How long of a session do I need?

Not sure how much time you need for your custom portrait session? You’ve come to the right place! I'm here to help you figure out the perfect length for your photo shoot. I currently offer three slots: 30 minutes, one hour, and two hours.

  • 30 minutes: A half hour session is great if you just need some basic photos to document where you are now, such as a headshot. You will be allowed one outfit and one location.

  • 1 hour: This session will allow us some more time to get creative. Most people add an additional outfit, and we can add a second location. This is my most popular option. An hour gives us an opportunity to find a rhythm without wearing you as a model out.

  • 2 hours: This is the ultimate portrait session. Four hours allows for maximum creativity. You are free to change multiple wardrobes and visit multiple locations. Two hours sounds like a long time, but it passes quickly when we have a rhythm and rapport.

FAQ: How Long of a Session Do I Need?

Q: What session lengths are available for portrait photography? A: Three session options are available: 30 minutes, one hour, and two hours. Each length is designed to accommodate different needs and goals for your portrait session.

Q: What is a 30-minute portrait session best for? A: A half-hour session is ideal for basic photos to document where you are now, such as professional headshots. This session includes one outfit and one location.

Q: What can I expect from a 1-hour portrait session? A: A one-hour session allows more time to get creative. Most people add an additional outfit, and a second location can be included. This is the most popular option because it gives enough time to find a rhythm without wearing you out as a model.

Q: What does a 2-hour portrait session include? A: The two-hour session is the ultimate portrait experience, allowing for maximum creativity. You can change into multiple wardrobes and visit multiple locations. While two hours may sound long, the time passes quickly once you've established a rhythm and rapport with your photographer.

Q: How do I decide which session length is right for me? A: Consider your goals: if you need a simple headshot, 30 minutes is sufficient. For more variety with outfit changes and locations, choose one hour. If you want the most creative options with multiple looks and settings, the two-hour session is best.

Q: Can I ask for help choosing the right session length? A: Absolutely! If you're unsure which session is right for you, feel free to reach out. Your photographer can help you determine the best option based on your needs and vision.
