St. Louis Weddings by MDKauffmann Photography
Timeless artwork. Milestones, not minutes. Calm leadership all day.
Weddings were the first commissions I ever took on in my own name. Like a lot of photographers, my first one was for friends—free—because I had a fancy camera. I shot it, handed them the film, and I’m not too proud to admit it: it wasn’t good.
But the work got better. Then it got consistent. Then it became a craft.
After 20+ years photographing weddings, I photograph about 20 weddings per year with a comfortably full calendar—because couples want more than “coverage.” They want a photographer who can keep the day fun, keep it moving, and create timeless artwork they’ll still be proud of decades from now.
What you’re really choosing
(and why it matters)
Your wedding can’t be re-shot. You can’t redo your first kiss. You can’t re-stage your dad’s toast.
So choosing a photographer isn’t just about price. It’s about trust—and about hiring someone who can lead with calm control while still letting the moments breathe.
If you’re looking for a photographer who will:
keep the energy light
guide you clearly (without making it feel staged)
protect the timeline
and finish your story as heirloom artwork
You’re in the right place.
How I make your day better It starts with planning.
We’ll talk early about what matters most to you—your people, your priorities, the moments you don’t want to miss—and we’ll build a plan that minimizes how much time photography pulls you away from actually being present.
Then we plan the end from the beginning: albums, wall art, gifts, and digital sharing.
Not because I’m trying to “sell you stuff,” but because the best photographs are made on purpose. When I know how you want to live with your images, I can create them with intention—so your final collection feels complete.
My approach: milestones, not minutes
Wedding days have a natural rhythm: getting ready, ceremony, portraits, reception, and the in-between moments that make it yours.
That’s why my coverage isn’t built around a stopwatch. I prioritize milestones over minutes, so we can focus on the story instead of the clock.
What it feels like to work together You’ll get direction when you need it, space when you don’t, and coaching that helps you look like yourselves—relaxed, confident, and connected.
I’m not here to turn your wedding into a photo shoot. I’m here to make sure you enjoy your day and walk away with artwork that lasts.
Experience you can lean on
I’ve spent decades studying weddings and portraiture—how to pose people naturally, how to use light intentionally, and how to keep things moving without rushing.
That experience shows up in the moments you don’t see:
family formals that don’t become chaos
portraits that don’t take forever
a timeline that breathes
images that look consistent from start to finish
Fast delivery (including FlashPhotos)
One of the biggest worries couples have is the delay between the wedding day and seeing their photographs. I’m known for fast turnaround—and if you want to share highlights immediately, ask about FlashPhotos: a small curated set delivered during your event so you can post, text, and celebrate without living on your phone.
The best is yet to come!
One of the biggest complaints and worries brides have about their wedding photography is the delay between the wedding day and when they get to see their photographs.
It can take months for the average photographer to return their work to the bride.
I can do better!
I have perfected my craft!
Most of my images are ready to view straight out of the camera.
This means rather than taking months, I can be ready to share wedding images in a matter of days, and my workflow leads to a higher-quality finished product.
Let’s talk more soon, and make this happen for you!
